I have measured the distance from rearend yoke to transmission yoke and get 54" center to center with the weight on the wheels. Does anyone know of a GM driveshaft that is that length or do I just ha

When I replaced my transmission, I had one cut down. I couldn't use the old drive shaft because of the slip joint thing. A freind had an old drive shaft that I took in and had cut. $115 with new cros

I would think that Wichita Falls, TX would have a drive shaft place. Look in phone book. They can increase or decrease the length of the shaft and maintaine the balance. You can have them install the

Mike, When I did my '48, I used the driveshaft out of my parts car ('77 Pontiac P. Brougham). It had to be shortened 2 1/2 inches. It only cost me $60.00 to get it cut and balanced. Alan Gingles 1948
