You might want to take the time to measure the wheelbase of the truck as well. Make sure the axle centerlines are the same on both sides. That's a quick way to determine if the frame is somewhat squa

The transmission is probably a Turbo 350 because the Olds diesel wouldn't make enough power to warrant a Turbo 400. A small-block Olds (260-403) gas engine will bolt right in place of the Olds diesel
