- It varies with year, spec and dizzie serial number, but a static of 7 or 8 BTDC should get you started. Again the proper figures would be useful for strobe timing, you can get these from the website

- Possibly the advance isn't functioning. Most likely the vacuum advance, I would think. Check the hose first, and then the diaphragm would be your next suspect. If you disconnect the line at the carb
