Make sure you are starting the fitting in straight if it has a small bend where it makes the connection into the servos you may cross thread it.. Just take it slow and easy. Make sure the fitting is

Working under the assumption that the end of the brake line might be bad I the brake line out ( no easy task) I can't get it to thread in any of the new servo fittings but it slides right in the old

Brake lines are hard to get back where they belong. I usually get them back into their proper place, then start the bolts for the MC or booster. It just seems to work better for me, and I worry less
