I don't think it would hurt. You can get Loc-Tite "liquid" teflon at the parts store (I've used it on a cantankerous brake line fitting with success). It would be a LOT easier than trying to keep the

The oil cooler lines have spherical sealing surfaces. Putting Teflon tape on the threads will not help them to seal. The teflon tape may be helpful in reducing bi-metalic corrosion between the alloy
