What you are describing is actually a flare nut whench, you can get a crowsfoot wrench in a flare nut wrench design or a traditional open end.

Nothern is ok but their shipping charges are pretty bad. Harbor Freight carries a lot of the same things. Their prices are cheaper and they have free shipping. Don't waste your money on the air set.

Sounds like rod bearings to me. If you pull the pan the bearings are fairly easy to replace. If the bearings are going you want to replace them before the crank gets scored ...Art

I doubt that any real shop could do the job for that price. A good paint job will run at least $1000. Think about what a small dent costs to get repaired and painted and this is without buying parts.

I had the same problem so I bought a modern universal fan switch at Parts America for about $12 dollars. It took about 20 minutes to figure out the directions and 5 minutes to install. It works fine
