It contains boron as the main additive. Boron Nitride is a plate-like crystal which is used in makeup to give a silky feel. If you get it on your fingers you can feel it's lubricant characteristics.

I'd suggest a silicone grease. Put on a thin layer and wipe it off. The residual will be enought to prevent the squeak. Hydrocarbon based lubricants can degrade the rubber. Also good for electrical c

I used Loctite Copper Gasket Adhesive on my motorcycle's base and head gaskets. It says it improves heat transfer, I used it because it was recommended by a mechanic and I figured it couldn't hurt. D
