- No. The coil should measure close to 3 ohms. 1.7 ohms will cause the current through the primary winding to be higher than it should be and result in overheating and premature failure. Cheers, Lew Pa

- If it is for a TD, no. That is an unballasted coil. It should be used with a ballast resistor. I think some late-model MGBs used ballast resistors but I definitely am not an MGB expert. The coil you
