Some time back there was a question as to the fastest production car. I get a couple of magazines from a guy here at work and looking at the Nov. issue of Road & Track I see a test of 5 sports cars.

The Corvette Z06 in the test was good for 174. The Superbird/Daytona you reffered to was a NASCAR racecar driven by the late Bobby Issacs, far from "Production". I don't think we can classify at GT-

Callaway twin turbo corvette.. 193+ late 1980's to early 90's they were production sold through GM dealers with warrenty and met all emmissions laws.. I know i worked on them... Dahlgren

My vote for fastest production car goes to the Mclaren F1 supercar. About 300 odd were built on a proposed 500 run. Good for a genuine 230 plus clicks with the longer, non LeMans tooth. Ran a V12 nor

A Ford GT-40 went upside down about three or four years ago at Speed Week if I remember correctly. Not much that is "stock" runs as fast on the salt as it does on a banked track with long straights.
