What do you mean "total loss"? I can see the electric drive would save some HP. Do you have any numbers on the HP gain, HP required to drive pump or net gain, either engine driven or electric. Glenn

Right Grib The dry sump pump is doing more than getting oil to the bearings. Vaccuum pumps require HP also. Do you have any idea what the net HP gain on a 304 CID 9000 RPM motor would be. Glenn rgrib

Whew Russ Inches of mercury would be a bunch.......might suck the bottom of the pan up til it touches the crank.....maybe that's the limiting factor. LOL 20 inches of mercury would be almost 10 psi.
