Has anybody machined extra studs (or bolts) to a 100 head, to prevent the leakage that often occur between the #2 and #3 cylinders? If so, how did you do it and how did it work? TIA, bs ** Bob Spidel

That's definitely not necessary. Just put in a steel Le Mans-Style head gasket on the engine and it will stop the leak.... at least that's what I've had several people tell me. Healey specialist par

Glad I'm not the only one with that problem, except mines between 3 and 4. The elegant way to fix it is to o-ring it, Though I wonder if there is really enough material there to do it. I had Mordy D

I too have struggled with this problem, now offering some helpful thoughts. Machining extra studs should not be necessary, yet having flat surfaces and an engine that does not overheat are essential

Hi Guys, On other engines I have had the top of the block machined with .030" wide by .015" deep grooves around the bores to accept .030" soft iron wire at 1/2 depth. This provides very good support
