- Disconnect the fuel line at the carbs and place a small pot/pan under the end. Turn on the ignition. Does the pump click? Does it go on and on and on? Does fuel run into the pan? Repeat several time

- Look into used tires. Around here you can get them for 30 or so. For your purposes think small, unbalanced and cheap. You might get lucky. The only issue might be getting them mounted on wire wheels

- I cannot beat 19 years (unvelievable) or even 10 years. I just this week replace the battery in my BN7 (12 volter not two 6 volters). It was just over 8 years old and a bottom of the line lead/acid
