I bought Crower rods for my 1500 spit in part because they could put 5/16 bolts in them while Carillo could not. only 1/4. So far so good.

Does anyone know where to get good racing valves for the 1500 spitfire? The closest stem diameter Manley has is 0.3105 and 0.3095 Milodon does not have anything. Ferrara has 0.313 Thanks Matt

I am not sure about the port sizes but the 1500 came with a big valve head, probably had larger ports to go with the valves.

I don't twist the head off but I do test them for stretch failure torque. Their published torque seem to be a little lower than that, but not much lower.

I find that although total seal still offers rings for the 1500 spitfire in 0.040 over size it no longer offers a moly top ring and a low tension oil ring. Does anyone no a source for these - either
