On a 69 they should ne 5mm x .8, standard ISO easy to find size. If someone happened to swap early pre-ISO carbs onto it they could be 5 mm x .75, very hard to find. Pull one out and check the threa

I have a similar problem on my 1600 with SUs. I have to blip the throttle to get the idle to drop. I have lubricated everything, adjusted the needles, checked the springs, all to no avail. Gary C 160

If it only happens when warm the problem is usually not enough slack in the cable. If the cable is set too tight, when it gets warm it shrinks just enough to cause what you describe.

Also keep in mind that as the engine heats up, the aluminum intake manifold will expand (get longer). I'm not sure which one would have the greatest effect, but the two phenomenon combined can affect
