Dearest List, On my 67.5 1600, I replaced the brake shoes/cylinders and pads/calipers a few months ago. Now the brakes squeal until I use the brakes a couple of times, then it's fine from there on. S

Did you use the anti-squeal compound thta usually comes with the replacement pads? If it didn't come with it, all parts houses sell it separately. If your pads have the compound on it, try putting a

Blame all those asbestos people. Asbestos is no longer used and it served as a sort of lubricant, same with the lead in gas for engines. I guess those "green" wimps don't like to breath a little asbe

Manufacturer and compound is usually printed on the metal side of the pad. There's a company here that sell pads, probably from India. They look like real pads but they only brake once from 30 mph. W
