- Just curious... whats that solenoid on my intake manifold do/for? And... if I have a set of SUs from an earlier 1600 than a '70, would there be any reason to swap them on? Are there any differences?

- You must be talking about a '70 1600. The solenoid operated bypass valve allows some air/fuel mixture to bypass the throttle plate. Along with the valve is a 3/4 gear switch on the transmission, and
