You mentioned the CNC processes. Can those rigs be used to check and setup things like valve seat, port and chamber matching, stem tip height and parallelism to the cam centerline? In other words al

The downside of CNC (computer numerical control) is that they rely on "imputs" rather than "existing conditions". That means that they can ignore the obvious. It's big advantage is precise "repeatabi

You'd probably have to design, prototype and set up production for an entirely new head casting. Even if you use the same basic combustion chambers and inlet/exhaust plumbing, there would be a lot of

But it got me thinkin'... what's the bore spacing on the u20/r16? 'Cause if a BMW M42 head was the same... well, boy howdy, that would be kind of fun. Or an SR20? Or something twin- cammy from Toyot

Interesting stuff on "twin-cam heads" etc etc., but just because it is "twin this, 16 valve that" does not automatically make it better. In fact, my good friend and head guru stated that the U20 head

Now if the cam chain set cost less than a JDM SR20 DET, and was as easy to find, (and lasted as long) it'd be a real star! It amazes me that people (Jeff Remfert, locally) race these cars so competit
