- 9.040 is about the max. The brakes will work if you have more wear than that on the drums but you will always seem to have a soft pedal. I had that for years, no matter how I bled the brakes. In the

- There's a bevel on the steel lining. You can't cut past that. A friend who is a great mechanic was looking at my drums as I was bead blasting them at his shop and told me that on most cars the bevel
