so more info on further testing. When I am in neutral or when the clutch is down, there is no noise. When I release the clutch into 1st, there is a clicking noise that matches the movement of the car

Sounds a lot like a chipped tooth on the drive side of one of the countershaft drive gears, or a bearing in the counter shaft. These gears would have pressure on them when driving in 1,2,3, but not 4

Well, you probably drove home by now. If it happens only when the clutch is pushed down, regardless if the car is moving or not, it sounds like a finger on the clutch or the bearing Throw out bearing
