Okay, I feel silly asking this, but how the heck does one remove the fuel pump from a 1600 without lifting the engine? I take the nuts off and the thing slides back until it hits the frame, then no m

That's me at the back of the class, staring out the window. At least I know I'm not the only one who was puzzled by the pump. Shoving the engine over by the valve cover gave me enough clearance. The

I just did this and it was a pain. Enrique's method did not work for me. Had to unbolt the nuts off the motor mount and lift. See the thread posted. Be sure to change the oil after you put in the new

just to weigh in on this topic: i have an early 67 1600 which i am restoring. after putting the engine and drivetrain back on the frame, then bolting the body on, i took the fuel pump off to clean it
