I found the easiest way was to, believe it or not, remove the intake and exhaust manifolds (or header in my case). Without taking the header off, I cannot remove the starter. Best of luck, Matt Silv

You can fix it with the head in place. You need to remove the rocker arm assembly first. Get a helicoil that is the correct size for the stud and install it in the stripped hole. Screw the stud back
