I'm unfamiliar with that issue. I know of several people who have restored their black/gold plates by repainting them in original authentic colors. I've never heard the case where that was considered

Yes, I agree. I think there is a big problem with changing the colors; but no problem if you are just maintaining the color as used in the black/gold plate. After all, it is required by law that you
