- I just bought a Craftsman Torque wrench to use for re-tourquing my head bolts (since this is a brand new-rebuilt engine) and the instructions say to always loosten a bolt fully before you re-tourque

- Yes, back the bolt out, evenly spread on "anti-seize" compound, insert finger tight, and then torque. Incidentally, the head bolt nuts are very special and made for BMC cars, DO NOT USE SUBSTITUTES!
