Hi Gavin, sure sounds like you have a float level problem. Either the needle valve is not always seating or perhaps you simply have too high a fuel pressure. The SU's like no more that 3psi in my exp

I just read the note again and saw you have HIF type carbs: the mixture range adjustment on these carbs is really quite small - nothing like the amount of adjustment you get on the bottom nut type or

I would concur that the rocker cover gaskets are leaking. Don't stop here however, there may be excess pressure due to blocked breathers, especially since you have an older engine. If yours is like m

Regarding the Colourtune: Has anyone used these devices with twin carbs (I have twin HIF6's on a Rover V8 3500). It seems to me that the colourtune will just read the _average_ of the two carbs, thus
