Ah, tis true. Lotus did all of the R&D work, and the actual production was done at Mercury Marine. Could be that Lotus sent the motor through EPA certification with their favorite (OE) plugs, NGKs.

There's any easier way to deal with that lower starter bolt; don't. Take out the top bolt only, and leave the starter on the engine. This only works on 4 syncro cars. I use lighter oil for break-in;
