It might be an oil pressure sensor used to drive the idiot light and cut off the electric fuel pump (if any) when the engine stalls. If so, Pegasus Racing has them. They have warning-light switches

"Recce" is Reconnaisance. I'm not exactly sure what a "recce car" is though; I suspect either they use a recce car to reconnoiter the course before the event; I.e. drive over the course, taking notes
