I am really not too sure how you can check to see if they have gone bad. My original gas struts look pretty old, but seem to work OK. I cant compress them without placing A LOT of pressure on them. T

I am replacing the alternator and want to make sure i hook it up correctly... there are 2 black 1 red and a brown wire, i know where the red one goes, ( obviously ) BUT what is the proper connection
