Another data point: I ran my old car (BMW) with Michelin Pilot SX MXX3 N2 tires for about 30 events, the majority at GGF, with no problems and about 1/2 tread wear. These tires were more heavily load

I agree with you in part, Jake; in my experience road racing with shaved BFG R1's, Kumho, and Toyo tires, they will out-perform any street rain-tread tire in the rain, as long as the car speed+water
