- Now that I have successfully opened up the insides of the doors, repaired the passenger-side window winder mechanism, and banished rattles from both sides, I am ready to work on handbrake adjustment.

- I think what they are telling you to do when they say to remove the wheels is not to take off the drums but to remove the wheels to allow for easier access to the adjuster in the rear of the backing

- Because of the weight transfer during stopping the majority of the work is done by the front brakes. That is part of the reason that so many vehicles back then came out with the disk/drum combinatio

- No need to go inside the rear drums. The adjuster is a square headed stud that is on the differential side of the brake drum, near the bottom edge. You can't miss it. Release the handbrake. Jack up
