I'm trying to install new O rings on the top cover selectors. I guess the early top covers had screws holding the selector rods in place & the later had "cups". What's the best way to get 'em out...

I've been under the impression that the J-Type O/D only works in 3rd & 4th gear. Is there some law that says it can't in 2nd...that is if a switch is installed on the top cover? Just curious, Todd B

Maybe weak threads, but the threads that were left further in were plenty strong...longer bolt to the rescue...took plenty of torque too! I'm in the middle of fitting a J-Type tranny to a TR250 frame
