Hello, Ken: Congrats on your recent assumption of the position of Editor
for the English Channel! I recently sent a note to Bill Sohl asking for
some advice on how to "find good homes" for two TR-8 race cars, a TR-8
street car, and tons of parts. Bill's brief response came on the same day
that I got the last issue of "The Vintage Triumph" and discovered that you
are now responsible for ads, so I'll send this off to you.
In case you're not familiar, I was a "factory backed amateur" Triumph racer
for quite a few years, racing a TR-3, a couple Spitfires (SCCA National
Champion - 1971), a TR-7, and two TR-8's - a coupe in 1979, and a roadster
from 1980 to 1984 (1981 National Championship). After years of storing
cars and parts, I've decided to get rid of some or all of my "stuff". Here
are a few ads I like to include in your next issue:
1981 TR-8 Convertible - Beautiful car, like new. 2300 miles, never exposed
to rain or snow. VIN #PZ4585BA 407067. Bordeaux Red with Tan top and
interior. A/C (needs recharged), 5 speed. I'll include some "street"
spares with the car! $18,000. Ken Slagle, Harrisburg, PA (717) 599-2300
(or email dknw93e@prodigy.com).
Ken Slagle's TR-8 race cars, parts, and the yellow wedge-shaped trailer.
1981 National Champion TR-8 roadster, still in "post 1984 CSPRRC" condition
(remember "the deluge"?) Car will require 80-100 hours to restore, all
parts included. This is the car that beat Paul Newman, was on the pole in
Atlanta for it's last race. Includes "trick" 400+ hp 4-litre motor with
all the good stuff. Also, a TR-8 coupe which was raced only four times.
In storage since 1979, basically a new race car. Tons of new and good used
parts available. Ken Slagle, Harrisburg, PA (717) 599-2300 (or email
dknw93e@prodigy.com).
TR-3B (TCF821L) Parts - Bonnet with hinges, boot lid, doors, four fenders
(two left rear, both fronts), starter. All in very good/excellent
condition. Also four Spitfire wire wheels, missing one hub. Ken Slagle,
Harrisburg, PA (717) 599-2300 (or email dknw93E@prodigy.com).
