Hi Folks, the above reference engine is thought to be in an Elva here in the
Northwest. The gentleman who contacted me is looking for it as it was the
original power plant in a Lotus 11 he now owns. Paul9s contact information
is listed below.

Dave,

Thanks for responding. I was told that Ed Clark moved to Portland, but that
was in 1970, so who knows by now. The real pot of gold at the end of this
rainbow in an 1100cc Coventry Climax numbered 7487, that is the engine that
was originally in my car.

The car is a 1958 Lotus Eleven LeMans that I found when I was hunting
Corvair parts. I realize that finding the engine seems like a long shot,
however if you heard the rest of my story you might find it seems possible
indeed. I have been researching my car since I acquired it, I now have a
complete history less a couple of years. The most recent owner I found
shared a garage with Ed and took the engine out of the Eleven and sold it to
him as a spare for the Elva.

So finding Ed would be great to track the engine, however finding the engine
is the real goal, it was last "seen" in Portland in 1970. If you could put
the word out for Ed and the engine I would be very grateful. Even if it is
in someone's car, I would love to know where it is.

Best,
Paul
