Central Division (CNDIV) SCCA started the car log book in 1971. Don Nixon, then area 4 Governor (now called Director) spearheaded the project and printed the books at Bodine Printing, his company, in Michigan City, Indiana. The project was so well received that the following year, 1972, car log books were implemented nationally. It was up to the regions to keep records on log books issued, serial numbers stamped into roll bars, etc. Some have good records, most do not. Larry Dent |
