it was a great event! i saw many of my old friends wandering around, and
out on course! (i was doing the wandering out on course!)
i had a great enduro for the blue gray race! after my pit stop i lost my
brakes and decided that in the old days they ran with no brakes .....so i
finished the event using the emergency brake. i figured i was doing
pretty horribly out there and hank giffin shows me the results from the race
and i was not dead last! and to boot i was turning laps under 2 minutes!
i do apologise for getting in the way of the group 3 guys who were running
blisteringly fast compared to my times! i did my best to watch my mirrors
and point evryone by when i saw a safe passing opertunity. (if you guys
passed me any faster i'd be left spinning like a top in a cartoon! LOL!)
the brake loss was a pin hole in a hard line that was no older than 3 years
old! thanks to peter and cindy bauer for their graciously giving me a piece
of tubing and their flaring tool! (once again reassuring my faith in
comradery amongst competitors!) i missed saturday morning's first outing
but by noon i was up and running again! (with brakes)
once again the orange 1960 saab did what it has done in the past, rol loff
,run and drive back on the trailer! i had a great race chasing bill
harding in his fiat 850 spyder! that was incredible fun! the weather
was acomodating and rather nice! the on course courtesy was just as nice!
i personally had a great time and hope evryone else had the same experience
i had on course.
i'm looking forward to VIR in 2 weeks! i'l lbe there to do my duties of
pest controll out on course (if you have passed me you understand the
importance of of 2 stroke race cars at these events! to kill and chase away
all flying insects! LOL!)
i'll see evryone in 2 weeks for the season finale!
chuck.
