Greetings all,

Paul Moxham, in Australia, owns chassis Lotu 23
Chassis #4 and originally thought it was the car
Kaback entered at Sebring. His diligent research,
however, suggests that #4 was a John Posselious car,
and was one of TWO Lotus 23s, both red with white
stripes, entered at Sebring in 1962. Interestingly
enough, the race report indicates both cars as "did
not start" Kaback, since he was late to registration
at the track, and the Posselious car due to having
spun its engine bearings in practice.

Furthermore, Moxham points out that Sy tested his 23
(see http://www.simplesevens.com/sykaback/08.htm)
prior to March 5th, while Lotus records indicate that
the earliest 23's were not built until mid March! The
record does not indicate a build date for 23 #1 and
this past weekend, when Moxham phoned Robin Read,
Robin indicated that it would have been perfectly
logical to expect that the show car was hurried off to
Kaback after the show...

We're still wondering what happened to the car after
it apparebtly went with Harvey Snow to the west
coast...
