As far as I know, you can not use the hard wired AMB on a positive
ground vehicle.  I have used the rechargeable one for about 5 years
and have found it easy to use and charge.  A charge lasts 5 days and
can be charged from your tow vehicle or at home; it comes with both
chargers.
