Advantages of turbo:

easier to develop more top end boost and power
boost is 'free' - it takes no power from the engine to produce it
compact turbines are easy to place anywhere in the engine compartment

Disadvantages:

supercharging produces power immediately, no lag, and better bottom end torque
heat in the engine compartment requires shielding

You takes your choices........

Bill
(who prefers turbo, but it ain't vintage, generally speaking)
