Curt Vogt of Cobra Automotive drills the backing plates of their GT350's to look
like swiss cheese. I have also seen many backing plates with little air scoops
on
them to direct air flow through the brake. I think the old Alfa's and Bugatti's
did this, and I'm sure there are others.
