Bob,  based on my experience it won't take you 2-3 years to know how that 
paint holds up.  It chips and wears very easily, and has a "nice" life of 
about one to two weekends in the cockpit of my sports racer.  It didn't 
survive adjusting the belts, actually, which involves installing the seat a 
half dozen times with Willans 6 point belts.
