I looked at this. The problem isn't the daily rate, it's the mileage
charge. To go from my place to Limerock, the closest track, is about 120
miles. To go to VIR, maybe 1000. At up to $.75 per mile, the cost adds up.
I prefer the idea of buying a beater for a season or two.
