I can see how an O2 sensor could help you find a theoretical best mixture,
but how would an EGT be used? I'm think back to dynoing my Martin engine,
when due to inefficient combustion we ended up over-fueling it a fair bit
to get best power. If we ran it stoichiometric (sp?) it was way lean for
best power. I always looked at an EGT as a "don't blow it up" gauge (kind
of the way it's used in airplanes or go-karts).
