The race was a great success in spite of several bouts of rain. Trashed two lovely cars but no one was hurt, thank heavens. Phil Hill is 80 now and is a delight to be around. I spent some time with him on two days and he is truly the grand old man of american racing and he still can peddle a race car around with great verve. He drove Bruce McCaws "mystery" Ferrari several times and looked really good. L.D. |
