David
What's a 61E? BTW I have a 61MX which was one of the last and with lower
front bodywork and nothing at the rear.

The only time I've used my fire extinguisher is in my modern Van Dieman FF
which has a plumbed in fire bomb. The handle has to be kept pulled for the
thing to keep working .... so you fry while your car gets the extinguisher.
The nozzles as it happened were pointing at the wrong place so the only
effect was to empty the cylinder. Luckily the fire truck arrved in time and
we made the last race!

Surely you guys aren't still using Halon? Its the same stuff that makes
HUGE holes in the ozone layer and guarantees the next generation will fry.
The rest of the civilised world ... ie Australia ... has banned the stuff.
