Tannoy were a company that provided public address sound systems. Like
the word 'Biro' for ball point pen any cone shaped speaker is known as a
'tannoy'. The race - even with a prime view - was dull without good
sound and pictures to know what is going on. I also had fun with a stop
watch timing gaps.
