I finally found some time this weekend to work on the
car (1958 VAY Special).
I got the Pep Boys/Nipondenso starter bolted up -
perfect fit!
Charged the battery, spun up oiul pressure, and then it
fired and ran on the first key turn.
It's NEVER fired up as fast as with this starter. Even
when the Lucas starter was brand new.

Mike,
I put my new starter in my MGB vintage racer along with the new engine on
Memorial Day weekend. Took it out for a 50 mile ride to wear it in
yesterday. Started works great. Sound like a Nascar when you start it.
