I am forwarding this to the net so that any confusion on this situation can be
expelled.

I'm afraid it was at SVRA tech. I don't remember who the inspector
was. It
was not difficult to remedy & re-route on the spot so it did not cause me a
lot of grief.

I am concerned that one of our people would have done this. It is just plain
stupid. In a coupe like yours in might be best to put the nozzle about dash
high since Halon is heavier than air. It will stay below your head until you
get out.
That is unless you are upside down!
You can't plan for every situation, just the most likely ones and hope for the
best. Nobody said racing was safe. Quick thinking, common sense and the best
preparation you can give will increase your level of safety.

<< When I put my fire system in my car I had two nozzles. I ran one to the
engine compartment and put the other one on the roll bar inside the car near
my head. When I went to tech at the first event I was required to change the
set-up. I reset it so that it was close to the fuel cell. The reason is
that
most fire bottle systems combat the fire by depriving it of oxygen and it was
decreed that I should not deprive myself of oxygen while trying to exit a
burning race car. With that in mind you might need to have an alternate plan
ready if you have trouble at tech. >>
Did this happen at an SVRA tech? If so, I am sorry. We have no problem with a
nozzle near the driver. The air displacement is true, but we would never
discourage a nozzle for the driver.
