All,
The Aluminum skin on my Formula Junior is developing some stress cracks.
They're all in non-critical areas. I'm pretty sure they can be TIG welded
but I'm not sure how to proceed with stripping. I may or may not want to
strip the panels down to bare Aluminum and start over. The Aluminum is
fairly light gauge, especially in the nose section. There are rivets on
these panels too, so I don't really want to think about having them
dipped unless there's no other way. I also don't want to turn my garage
into a toxic waste dump.
Anybody have any suggestions for gently stripping Aluminum panels? Any
specialists in Northern CA? Anybody tried dry ice blasting?
