Don't the 1300cc Giulietta Veloce's use 45DCOE webers? I'd be very surprised
if 45s are too much for your 1600 that revs to 7000. Heck, we use 40DCOE's on
a 850cc twin-cam Honda and it is not too much carb. Our set-up uses 30mm
chokes on the 40DCOE's. If you have access to a dyno, I'm sure it would be
worth experimenting with different choke sizes. You might also check with Jim
Hayes, as he has done some dyno time on his 1600 Alfa motor - his experience
could give you a good starting point.
