I couldn't agree more. Being a Canadian too it seems that it is stay at
home time for Vintage racing since the dollar discrepency is now $1.46
(can) to $1.00 (US) it is getting very expensive to cross the 49th .
Though we have to live with this outrageous exchange rate I do plan to run
at SIR in Kent Washington this year. The highly professionally promoted
races in the U.S. give me a feeling that we grass roots racers are being
taken for a ride. (metaphorically)
The Calgary Vintage Racing Club has some 70 members. We host 5 race events
a year at Race City Motorsport Park (2.1 mile road course) here in Calgary.
One of these events is" Vintage on the Praries" on August 21-23 1998. I
iwould like to invite everyone to this event. We hope for a really good
turn out for this event. Perhaps 80-100 cars? Surplus proceeds fron this
event will be going to a regonised charity.
The CVRC is a non profit Club and we endevour to price Vintage On the
Praries at our cost to the participants. Long haulers can even expect a
break on their entry fee.
Thanks for this intrusion on the list. Please respond if interested in
V.O.T.P.
A fee schedule is to be set soon.
