You are cordially invited to the Third Annual GingerMan Vintage
Challenge at GingerMan Raceway, South Haven, Michigan. This year the
races will be organized by North Suburban Sports Car Club and sanctioned
by Midwestern Council of Sports Car Clubs.
The race dates are Saturday and Sunday, September 5 and 6, with a
track-sponsored novice driver school and open practice day set for
Friday, September 4.
If you want to experience what club racing was really like in the ‘50s
and ‘60s, come out to this event. Midwestern Council was there, running
races at Meadowdale, Lynndale, Wilmot Hills and State Fair Park. While
you can’t race in single layer boraxed cotton any more (and we usually
run on time now) the important parts of the old club racing atmosphere
are still here... friendly non-contact competition, lots of socializing,
a no-hassle atmosphere, and officials who are drivers and think like you
do.
Midwestern Council is a true club racing organization. It was founded
in 1958 and traces its roots to the Midwestern Centre of the Overseas MG
Car Club, part of the MG Car Club formed in England in the ‘30s. Visit
the MC website at <www.execpc.com/~mcscc>
Mark your calendar... Labor Day weekend at the GingerMan Vintage
Challenge. We'll race Saturday and Sunday and leave Monday open for you
to enjoy the great southwestern Michigan resort area with your family.
